The multi diagonal method which is also termed as the cold moulded method has hulls that are made of compound shapes and sizes. The planks are cut out in this method and laid at different angles so that they are fixed together to form a boat. The planks are stuck through glues like epoxy which is the most sought after adhesive used in the process of building wooden boat.

The next method is the stich and glue method. The wooden planks are cut out and fixed within few hours. They are further stitched and glued together to form a boat. The planks have holes on the edges that are used to tie the copper wires so that the planks are stuck to one another. The glue used in this case is also epoxy resin.

Post stitching and gluing resin coated fiberglass tape is made to cover the wooden planks. This method is largely used by amateurs. A saw and a drill are only tools that are required in the process. The boat made is light weight, durable but strong. There are plans available in market for this method that comprises of making instructions and materials.

One-off fiberglass method is used in mass production since it involves molds that are costly to make. These are female molds that have laminated surface made of glass fibers and sprayed resins. The method has two kinds. One is the sandwich core method and the other is the fiberglass planking more commonly known as the C-Flex method. All kinds can be easily created by amateurs too who are building the boat for the very first time.
